I was gifted $75 in Schwans gift cards for Christmas. These were purchased from their website.

The site makes you enter your zip code before you purchase these to verify that they service your area. It was verified, and gift cards were shipped. I tried to place an order and was told they don't service my area. I told them their own website stated they did and sold the cards based on that.

First they said I could send them back and they'd refund the money- minus a $15 re-stocking fee. I said this was unacceptable. Then they said I could mail them back and they would issue a check within 10-12 weeks. This too is unacceptable.

Now I'm being told I have to mail them back at my own expense and they'll issue a complete refund "as soon as they can". So I'm supposed to mail them off and hope for the best? This is service? Schwans essentially stole from my family's food budget for Christmas.

I just want the *** cards canceled and a refund issued to the original debit card used. That's it.

Schwans has horrible customer service and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Corporate thieves.

Monetary Loss: $75.

Location: Overland Park, Kansas

I had a similar bad experience with Schwanโ€™s gift card (Dec. 2018). WARNING..DO NOT BUY A SCHWANS GIFT CARD !!!!!

Mike the SG is an ***!!!

Guest

I think Mike SG must be some suck up *** to try to defend Schwans. The company sucks big time and if he thinks different he's got his head stuck up his ***. In this economy few waste their money buying overpriced Schwans food.

Guest

Mike the SG, you're a ignorant troll. This company blows from start to finish.

When a LGM grows the business to achieve a bonus, the company changes the rules so as NOT to have to pay out.

They've also changed the pay structure 3 times in the last 2 years in order to reduce the amount the company pays out monthly. They don't even kiss you before they *** now.

@cpfan

What exactly are you trying to say? What you started saying correct, yet wrong.

Sounds like you were trying to say that you want to generate a minimum of $1200 on your lowest day and obviously more on your others...which is a good tactic, but you still want to make as much as possible per day.

Guest

Actually the best thing to do is get one day to $1200 that is $84 and you have 8 days that need to average $200 per day.

Guest

Mike I'm confused you work 9 days that is a base of $900 (making metrics isn't hard, I have never missed one it is setting your route properly) that leaves 9 days for $100 or less than $12 a day. In your case use your extra days to work on the days that are just short of $900 spd and start getting a higher commission. If half of your days are @ $900 then that is $89 plus what you earn the other 5.

Guest

I am a former LGM for Schwans. Left got a new job.

Just a warning but if you are working for Schwans you should keep the resume up to date. The recent closings won't be the last.

Guest

You obviously don't review the weekly recaps for the district you are in, if you did you would see many averaging over 1200 or higher. Top guy in HS sold over $677000 last year...you do the math on his income.

Guest

The schwans company is nothing but white collar pigs!

Guest

No one here is averaging 1400 per day! Not even close!

In this economy I doubt any one is.

12hr plus days. Everyone here looking for a new job

Guest

If you do your research, since you don't believe me, we have a pay scale scale that is base plus commission.

$50 per day, plus $50 for doing your job, then your sales commission.

$900 to $999 is 2.5%, $1000 to 1099 is 3.5%, and up. The highest % you can earn in commission is 15% for $2500 or more in daily sales.

At the $1400 to $1499 tier, you earn 9% commission, which is $126 to 134.91. At $1500, you earn 10%, which is $150 to 159.90.

So you can see when you average over $1400 per day, the $240 in daily pay average is completely plausible not to mention completely true.

After 1 year, you get 8,9, or 10 days depending on your accruement from your first year. You obviously accrue PTO faster after working for the company longer, BUT you can hold up to 15 days.

Guest

oh, I forgot to dispute what you think I earn. It's more than that, but not that it matters.

I already pointed out 3 weeks or 15 days vacation after 7 years. lol. That means you have worked up to that point 2 weeks or 10 days for 6 years.

No driver, say a new hire, who works for a year gets 15 days or 3 weeks. it's 2 weeks, or 10 days.

gee, in a real job it's 2 weeks vacation, all holidays paid, that's at least 5 days.

you should start looking for a new job if you havent already. Your depot will close like all the rest lol.

Guest

mike, your ignorance is outstanding. what I quoted is your MAXIMUM amount of time you get off in a year lol

and, it means that you work much more for less.

you're happy getting less because of the obvious.

really, I wonder where you are. Gee you could do so much better. According to you (but you conflict and contradict yourself) you do far above average and in this economy. Yet, you dont mind working for substandard thieves like Schwans. You don't seem to see the obvious that the crooked company is closing down. They suck as an employer and have hiring signs on the back of their trucks. You dont see the obvious implication of that they can't keep people. 1400 per day average sales isn't anywhere near 240 per day. it would be about 150 per day so you lied there.

I really think you must be in Schwans Management. A driver for them isnt so clueless.

what's amusing is you think if we dont buy schwans from hs, we get it at the grocery store or restaurants. lol. it may come as a shock to you, but frozen pizzas and convenience type foods i avoid. they are unhealthy.

who knows, maybe you have a bunch of fat, lazy people who want to buy convnience foods and dont mind paying 1.75 delivery and 2x prices. i really doubt it though. when is your depot closing? lol

Guest

Your ignorance is astounding, what part of "I earn a PTO day every 6 weeks and can hold a maximum of 15 days" are you having issues with?

Guest

you claimed earlier to work 110hrs per week.

what assumptions? you know not what I work or earn. I think earlier you claimed I was on welfare and FS LOL

have you checked out schwans facebook? all th ese customers unhappy wow!

its 2 weeks or 10 days per year. Thats the maximum. 3 weeks after 7 years maximum. after 7 years wow! you are now what people get to start and you've worked 110hrs+

lol.

Guest

I'm not dodging anything. If I work 10 to 12 a day for 9 days that is 90 to 108 every two weeks, and I stated I average under 100 every 2 weeks.

Nothing has changed from earlier statements, and I've never been forced to come in on a day off for no pay. In fact, if you work extra days you get $50 per day. Now with PTO, I can hold, currently, up to 15 days worth.

You earn a day every 6 weeks and we have limited black out periods. You claim you have a great job but you never did dispute anything I said about the hours you work or your pay, I obviously was spot on in my assumptions.

Guest

Mike, this is your exact words earlier:

"I'll work 50 to 60 in most cases depending on my week"

now you say:

"I average less then 100 every two weeks"

You must be a poser from Schwans Management. You are forgetting your lies. lol I know the company is doing extremely poorly. That's why the company is shutting down depots all over. Had too because they were losing so much money. They've kept other depots open for now, but those are losing money as well. Soon enough they'll all close and Schwans Home Service will be no more.

For vacation Scam Schwans offers a mere 10 days off. Sure, you can use any of those days for other things, but it is credited against your vacation. 3 weeks vacation comes after 7 years of slavery.

Is Scam Schwans still demanding people come in on their DAYS OFF without pay for sales meetings? I know that in the past they've ripped people off 40hrs a year on that. If we deduct that from your vacation you get one week! No holidays paid (gee what a great company!) as well. One just works the day at regular rate or one gets the day off without pay but works another day instead. That other day is the weekend so now you got split days off!

Guest

lol I love how you spin and dodge. You said you work 50-60hrs per week and work 4 days and 5 days per week. That is 110 hrs. I simply added 3 hrs more to account for you pretrip the truck, straighten the truck at the end of the day, your deposit, and drop off at bank. Likely I should have added more.

you might want to bookmark www.careerbuilder.com so that when your depot closes down like the rest you'll have some where to start.

It appears to me that you are in DENIAL of the prospects of Schwans. Home Service is losing money and likely to fold. Their Consumer Brands Divisions are also not competing well.

I see you are now putting words in my mouth. Where did I ever say what I earned or what I did for a living? LOL You're really grabbing straws there. Now, I understand that working for a 4th rate crooked company selling overpriced substandard *** can be unsettling, but you really need to educate yourself on what real companies and real jobs are all about.

My days are 8hrs long, but I get 2 breaks and lunch break. Really I work about 7hrs. What do I earn? None of your business, but I promise you it's more than the 7-8 per hour your making at scam Schwans!

you make 52K? lol. gee selling overpriced *** and charging 1.75 delivery fee on top in this economy? LOL. Then, what the F are you doing working for Schwans??? I mean if you are so good why you selling yourself so short??? Heck get with a company that's reputable, and respects you.

but you don't and we all know the real reason why.

Guest

I said 10 to 12 hours, even 12 times 9 is 108 to your "80.". That, mind you, is my high end.

I average less then 100 every two weeks, which is a standard "salary" week for most. if you are working 80 then your obviously hourly and obviously not making more then $15 an hour. Your $15 an hour equates to less then $32k a year, and if you're only work 1800 you are not even at 40 a week. Frankly, per year I'm at $52k per year for 234 days of work, and I can hold up to 15 days PTO max, which is 3 weeks worth.

Even if I work 14 hours a day, which I do not, that is still $16 per hour.

Also, do you know that all peanut butter has insect pieces in it?

The regulations say there just can be MORE then a certain amount, not 0. So, unfortunately, accidents happen.
